Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you enter a name or case number in a search tool, the query is transmitted to the provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and returns any result it chooses to provide. We do not keep or log the search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send a message to us, we may retain it to respond and maintain the correspondence. We do not disclose its contents outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, server and analytics services may receive routine technical information about the visit, including:
- Device IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring page or service, when available
- Time of each page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. This site and analytics services may use them to understand aggregate visits, such as which pages receive traffic and where sessions end. Browser controls can block cookies, although certain features may then work differently.
What We Do With Visit Data
When limited visit data is available, it may be used for the following operational purposes:
- Operate, secure, and improve page delivery
- Route a search request to the partner tool selected by the visitor
- Measure general traffic and identify technical faults
- Assess which reference material may need maintenance
- Display advertising that may be interest-based
No Court-Record Data on File
Livingston Parish Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general routing information for records held by the Livingston Parish Clerk of Court, the Twenty-First Judicial District Court, and local courts. Louisiana court-record access is governed in relevant part by La. C.C.P. art. 251, while access to electronic pleadings follows the paper-record access framework in La. C.C.P. art. 253, subject to protections. Nothing collected about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or records about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate search boxes that appear on some pages. Information entered there is handled under the provider's privacy policy, not this policy. Those providers determine their own retention and sharing rules, which this site does not control. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links can direct visitors to the Clerk, Clerk Connect, the 21st JDC, municipal courts, legal-aid resources, or third-party search tools. A linked site controls the visit after you leave this site. Read its policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to present targeted advertising. That activity takes place on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information can be received by:
- Search providers that process a query you submit
- Analytics services used to assess traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
- Government bodies or law enforcement when a valid legal obligation requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable measures intended to protect the limited information we receive. Internet transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure, however, and no system can promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor supplied information to us, contact us so the matter can be addressed.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights concerning information about you. Louisiana's court-records law, including La. R.S. 44:1, supplies public-record context and does not make this private site the custodian of a court file. You may request, as applicable:
- A copy of information retained about you
- Correction of information you identify as inaccurate
- Deletion of information, where appropriate
- An opt-out from certain processing, where available
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this privacy policy. A revised version becomes effective when posted here with an updated effective date.
Effective date: August 26, 2026
